Jessica Lee Hinebaugh, on trial for attempted murder, listened in Circuit Court on Wednesday as Casey Ann Jones testified.

A state judge sentenced a 21-year-old woman to a life prison term with the possibility of parole for her role in the stabbing and robbery of her older sister in a Mililani Mauka townhouse.

In March, a jury found Jessica Hinebaugh and her 24-year-old boyfriend Michael Ayala guilty of attempted murder and other charges in connection with the Oct. 6, 2013 attack on Hinebaugh’s sister Casey Ann Jones.

Jones, 25, testified that her sister held her down and covered her mouth while Ayala repeatedly stabbed her in the living room of her townhouse.

The Schofield Barracks soldier, who was two months pregnant at the time of the attack, suffered a laceration to her kidney and other injuries. Jones survived the attack and gave birth seven months later.

Ayala, 24, is scheduled to face sentencing in October.
