Death of 2-year-old girl found in ravine probed as homicide
PITTSBURGH » Authorities say more tests are needed to determine the cause and manner of death of a 2-year-old girl whose body was found in a western Pennsylvania ravine, but police are investigating the case as a homicide.
Allegheny County police say Adrionna Williams of Wilkinsburg, who would have turned 3 next month, was found dead in a neighboring suburb about 40 minutes after her family reported her missing on Sunday.
Lt. Andrew Schurman says police believe the child had been placed where she was found because it was too far for her to walk by herself. And he said that at this stage investigators “do not believe the child was abducted by a stranger.”
Police have not identified or charged any suspects.
