Some 101 traffic cameras for roads in Aiea, Pearl City, Ewa, Kapolei and Kaneohe are down after a contractor working on the rail project damaged a fiber-optic line near Aloha Stadium.
Rail officials said in a news release Thursday that rail-transit contractor Kiewit was conducting utility relocation work along Kamehameha Highway near the stadium shortly before midnight when the cable was damaged, temporarily affecting city traffic cameras. Repairs are underway.
Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation and Kiewit apologized to drivers.

FBI locates Colorado girl safe in Texas
A 9-year-old girl authorities were searching for in Hawaii is returning home to Colorado in time for Mother’s Day after she was found in Texas with her noncustodial father.
Her father, Brian Kirk, is awaiting extradition to Colorado to face criminal charges. He couldn’t be reached for comment in custody.
Brianne Kirk went camping with her father on Hawaii island for spring break. She was supposed to return to Colorado Springs, Colo., at the end of March.
Acting on an anonymous tip, the FBI found the father and daughter in Poolville, Texas, on Thursday.
The FBI says it appears Brian Kirk flew with his daughter to Texas from Hawaii in April. There was no record of their travels, and the FBI doesn’t know what names or identifications they used.
