DK Restaurants is ending its 15-year run at Restaurant Row this month as it allows its leases for Hiroshi Eurasian Tapas and Vino to expire.
Hiroshi Asian Tapas and Vino will close May 21.
Slurp! — a lunchtime ramen stand that operates inside Vino— will discontinue service after May 15.
"We loved serving Honolulu from Restaurant Row, first with Sansei Seafood Restaurant & Sushi Bar and then with Hiroshi, Vino and Slurp!" said owner D.K. Kodama in a news release issued Sunday. "Change is good — and inevitable — and we’re excited about the future as we grow our company in new ways."
Kodama opened Sansei at Restaurant Row, now known as Waterfront Plaza, in 2000.
The restaurant was relocated to the Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort and Spa in 2004. That same year, Kodama opened the Restaurant Row locations of Vino (with partner Chuck Furuya) and Hiroshi (with Furuya and Hiroshi Fukui).
Slurp! opened as a pop-up stand in Vino last year.
DK Restaurant’s public relations contact did not respond to a request for interview with Kodama.
Reached at Vino on Sunday, Furuya refused further comment.
Gift certificates for the two restaurants will continue to be honored at each of the four Sansei locations, as well as d.k. Steak House and Maui Fish & Pasta.
