A 24-year-old Indiana woman Monday will be extradited to  Honolulu to stand trial in federal court for the alleged premeditated murder of an Army wife in November.

A Honolulu federal grand jury indicted Ailsa “Lisa” Jackson Wednesday on a first-degree murder charge related to the stabbing death of Catherine Walker, 38, in her Alimanau military housing home.

A three-page federal indictment said that “the offense was committed after “substantial planning and premeditation.”

 At an extradition hearing Monday in Indianapolis, Jackson waived both detention and identity hearings, according to Anthony Geller, an assistant U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Indiana.

U.S. marshalls will bring Jackson back to Hawaii.

The maximum penalty for murder in federal court is death or life imprisonment.

The U.S. Attorney in Hawaii, in consultation with the Justice Department, will decide whether to seek the death penalty.

The FBI arrested Jackson this weekend in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where she lives.

Walker’s body was found in her home on Morishige Lane at Aliamanu Military Reservation at approximately 6:30 a.m. on  Nov. 15.

The medical examiner said she died from stab wounds to the neck and torso and ruled her death a homicide.

Walker’s husband was a medic assigned to Tripler Army Medical Center at the time.

During its investigation Army criminal investigators said Walker’s death was not a random act or a robbery.
