A Hilo man was charged Tuesday with three offenses in connection with a reported assault Monday night of a 43-year-old man at a house on Ohea Street.

Forty-two-year-old Paul Sasaki was charged with assault, unlawful imprisonment and terroristic threatening. His bail was set at $12,000.

At about 8 p.m. Monday, a 43-year-old Hilo man reported that he was assaulted, held at knifepoint and threatened while at the home of an acquaintance at the home on Ohea Street. The victim managed to break free, leave the premises and call the police.

At 8:40 p.m., police arrested Sasaki.
