Suspect arrested in Chinatown hatchet attack
Police arrested a suspect in an alleged hatchet attack on two men in Chinatown early Thursday morning.
Officers arrested a 64-year-old homeless man on suspicion of second-degree assault at about 2:45 a.m. on Nuuanu Ave., several blocks from where the incident occurred 45 minutes earlier, police said.
Paramedics treated a 52-year-old man for cuts to one of his arms at Nuuanu Avenue and took him to the hospital in stable condition at 2:30 a.m.
The other victim did not need medical treatment, EMS said.
