Weather service drops flood advisory for Leeward areas

The National Weather Service dropped a flood advisory for Oahu Friday after heavy rain subsided over some Leeward areas.

The advisory, which was originally issued through 5:30 p.m., was removed before 4 p.m.

“At 2:24 p.m., radar showed slow-moving showers falling at rates of more than 1 inch per hour near Pearl Harbor and the airport. Additional heavy showers could develop through Honolulu to Diamond Head this afternoon,” the advisory said.

The advisory’s area included Manoa, Iwilei, Salt Lake, Waimalu, Pearl City, Kalihi, Iroquois Point, Halawa, Fort Shafter and Aiea, the weather service said.
