2 young men injured, 1 critically, in Seattle shooting
SEATTLE >> Police say two men have been shot and wounded in downtown Seattle and one is reported in critical condition.
Detective Patrick Michaud says police found a critically wounded 25-year-old man and a seriously wounded 16-year-old boy when officers on foot patrol about 8 p.m. Wednesday heard gunshots and responded to the area of 3rd Avenue and Pine Street, near the Pike Place Market. Both young men were taken to Harborview Medical Center.
Police say they saw a large group of people running from the shooting site.
Michaud says officers are working to get a description of the shooter or shooters and are trying to locate surveillance video from nearby businesses. Crime scene investigators and the gang unit were speaking with witnesses at the shooting scene.
Police say a separate report of a man with a gunshot wound to the chest at a nearby bus stop turned out to be false. Michaud says that man reported that he was shot Wednesday but he actually was shot years ago and was suffering “from some issues.”
