Prosecutors charged a 43-year-old man for allegedly assaulting his 33-year-old ex-girlfriend Nov. 6  in Waianae.

Randy Gonsalves, who has no local address, was charged with first-degree and second-degree assault. His bail was set at $150,000.

Police said Gonsalves allegedly assaulted the woman at 9 p.m. Nov. 6, causing substantial bodily injury.

The woman was admitted into a hospital Nov. 7 for treatment of injuries.

Upon her release from the hospital, she filed a police report.

Police found the ex-boyfriend and arrested him on suspicion of second-degree assault and an outstanding warrant.
