Boy injured after hit by car while riding bicycle in Kauai
A 12-year-old boy sustained non life-threatening injuries Saturday night after he was struck by a car while riding a bicycle on Kuhio Highway in Lihue.
The crash happened around 6:35 p.m. near the Ahukini Road intersection.
The boy was trying to cross the highway from the northbound to the southbound shoulder when he was struck by a Jeep station wagon traveling southbound. He was not in a marked crosswalk, according to the Kauai Police Department.
