WAILUKU >> Three people were arrested after allegedly selling stolen Maui bus passes online.
Maui police said an investigation that started Wednesday revealed that stolen $4 Maui bus passes were being sold on a social media site for $2.
Police arranged to meet at the Queen Kaahumanu Center to purchase the bus passes. That’s where a plainclothes officer arrested 23-year-old Cole Santiago of Wai-luku.
Police later arrested 53-year-old Anthony Davis of Wai-luku and 23-year-old Mikail Hono-kaupu of Wai-ehu for their alleged involvement in selling the stolen passes.
Officers recovered 31 all-day passes valued at $124.
All three were charged with third-degree theft and released on bail.
