A 20-year-old Waianae man, who allegedly attacked a police officer at the Kapolei Police Station Thursday, could face additional criminal charges.

Officers initially arrested the suspect on suspicion of assault in Waianae and was in police custody when he allegedly attacked a 41-year-old police officer Thursday afternoon at the Kapolei station.

The officer was taken to the hospital, treated for his injuries and released.

An additional charge of first-degree assault of a law enforcement officer could be filed agains the suspect.
