Waiawa could host vast solar farm

Hawaiian Electric Co. and lawmakers want to allow customers without rooftop space for solar panels to buy into community solar farms that would allow investors to earn credits on their bills. The solar farm pictured below, which opened last month in Koloa, Kauai, is not part of the proposed “solar garden” arrangement.
