UH soccer team blanked by Long Beach State
Long Beach State continues to give the Hawaii soccer team fits.
The 49ers dealt the Rainbow Wahine a 2-0 defeat on Thursday at Waipio Peninsula Soccer Stadium, damaging UH’s chances to qualify for the Big West tournament.
LBSU (6-5-5, 2-1-2 Big West) improved to 5-0-1 against UH (6-9, 1-4) in the teams’ last six meetings.
UH has three matches remaining to improve its standing and finish in the top four for a tournament berth. It will need to win all three to have a realistic chance.
It was the first time this season UH was shut out in consecutive matches, and the third time it was shut out overall in 2014.
