The University of Hawaii at Hilo, Hawaii Community College, and the West Hawaii Education Center on the Big Island will be closed Thursday and Friday, due to the anticipated severe weather.

UH Maui College and its Education Centers in Hana and Lahaina and on Molokai and Lanai will close at noon on Thursday and all day on Friday, and weekend operations will be suspended.

University officials said they continue to monitor the situation and will decide the status of its remaining campuses on Oahu and Kauai on Thursday.
