Taxi passenger charged in alleged assault on driver
Prosecutors charged a 22-year-old Mililani man with interference with the operator of a public transit vehicle after allegedly assaulting a taxi driver Friday in Honolulu.
Police said Jacob Ellis, a passenger in a taxi, allegedly assaulted the 59-year-old cab driver at 6:20 a.m. Friday.
Police arrested Ellis at Piikoi and South Beretania streets.
He was charged Saturday. Bail was set at $15,000.
