Prosecutors on Tuesday charged a 42-year-old homeless man with assaulting Sunday a 61-year-old female security guard at an Aina Haina shopping center.

Joshua Lagrange was charged with with second-degree assault. His bail was set at $30,000.

Police said Lagrange assaulted the security officer 8:45 a.m. Sunday after she asked him to leave the shopping center.

The woman was taken in serious condition to the hospital with a head injury.

Police found the man in the area and arrested him 9:30 a.m. Sunday at Niuiki Circle and Kalanianaole Highway.
