Motorcyclist killed in Kaukonahua Road crash is identified
The Medical Examiner’s office has identified the 35-year-old Kailua man killed Sunday when he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed on Kaukonahua Road in Wahiawa as Airrain Edwards.
Cause of death was multiple blunt force injuries that occurred after the motorcycle ran onto a grassy median, ejecting the driver, who slid into an incoming car.
Police said the motorcycle was traveling north at a high rate of speed when Edwards apparently loss control of the vehicle.
Neither of the two occupants of the car was injured.
An ambulance took Edwards in extremely critical condition to Wahiawa General Hospital, where he died.
Edwards was Oahu’s 27th traffic fatality, compared to 30 at the same time last year.
