Some 30 million small businesses are active on Facebook worldwide, the social network announced today, up from the 25 million figure previously reported.

While no specific number of Hawaii businesses on the social network was immediately released, the company recently staged two Small Business Boost events in Hawaii, one on Maui and one in Honolulu.

How quickly the most recent five million business users were added is unclear.

Some 19 million, or nearly two-thirds of business owners with a presence on the social network, are actively managing their pages via mobile devices, according to a Facebook statement.
