Kalani's Reyn Shitanishi slid back safely to first after a run down as Roosevelt's Edward Garrity anticipated the ball in the second inning of Thursday's game.

Brandon Roberts scored on a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the sixth and Kalani beat Roosevelt 4-3 on Thursday at Kahala district park.

Reece Kakugawa had the telling blow for the Falcons, lofting a 1-1 pitch into centerfield with one out and Roberts on third. The Rough Riders cut the ball off and Roberts, who moved from second to third on a passed ball after a leadoff double, scored easily.

Kalani tied the score in the fifth on Payton Awaya’s three-run, inside-the-park home run.

Roosevelt scored one run in the third and two in the fifth on two Kalani errors.
