A man found a badly decomposed body of a man Wednesday morning on a hillside near the top of Wilhelmina Rise.

Fire Capt. Terry Seelig said the man was flying a radio-controlled helicopter in his back yard at Kawelolani Place.

When he went to retrieve it, he smelled an odor, and discovered the badly decomposed body and called 911 about 10:45 a.m.

The Fire Department waited for police, then recovered the body and handed the remains over to police and the Medical Examiner’s Office.

Police said the body was that of a 48-year-old man.
