Homeless man charged in Waikiki robbery
A 34-year-old homeless man has been charged with threatening another man with a metal object during a holdup near Fort DeRussy in Waikiki.
Anthony Ajimine was arrested Wednesday night at Kalakaua Avenue and Saratoga Road after a 40-year-old man said the suspect tried to take his wallet.
The victim told police that he was walking in Waikiki when he was confronted by the suspect, who pulled out a metal object and allegedly demanded the man’s wallet.
When the older man refused and called 911, the two began arguing.
The suspect was charged Thursday with second-degree robbery and second-degree terroristic threatening. His bail was set at $15,000.
