A woman was killed early Friday afternoon when she was hit by a car at the intersection of Makiki and Wilder Streets, the second pedestrian accident Friday.

The 68-year-old woman was crossing Wilder Ave. when she was struck by a vehicle making a left turn onto Wilder at about 12:41 p.m. 

She was in a marked crosswalk. 

The victim was taken to Queen’s Medical Center, where she died. 

The driver of the car, a late-model Ford Explorer, was a 72-year-old woman, who wasn’t injured. Speed and alcohol were not suspected as factors, police said.

Earlier today, a 94-year-old pedestrian was critically injured in a hit-and-run collision in a marked crosswalk in Kaimuki.

Police are looking for a vehicle, possibly a green sedan, that hit the man and fled the scene Friday morning.

The man was in critical condition after he was struck by the vehicle at the intersection of Waialae and 5th Avenues, between Sacred Hearts Academy and McDonald’s.

At about 7:37 am., the victim was crossing Waialae Avenue in a marked crosswalk when the vehicle, heading Koko Head on Waialae Avenue, ran a red light and struck the pedestrian.

The 94-year-old man sustained head and internal injuries and was initially taken to the Queen’s Medical Center in serious condition. Police said his condition worsened and he was downgraded to critical condition.
