Chef Shannon Akazawa, chef-owner of Gokujo Sushi and Umami Cafe, pays a visit to host Grant Sato and the "What’s Cooking Hawaii" kitchen to share recipes for Gokujo’s spicy ahi sushi and ahi tataki salad.
The show at Kapiolani Community College airs 7 p.m. today on KFVE and repeats 5 p.m. Sunday.
GOKUJO AHI TATAKI SALAD WITH PONZU DRESSING
1 packed cup mixed greens
1 cup large diced seeded or seedless watermelon
5 slices ahi tataki (seared)
5 pieces tomato
1/4 package radish sprouts
» Ponzu dressing:
2 teaspoons soy sauce
2 teaspoons sesame seed oil
1 teaspoon yuzu or lemon juice
2 teaspoons salad oil
On plate, arrange mixed greens, watermelon, ahi, tomato and radish sprouts.
In small bowl, combine dressing ingredients and mix well to combine.
Pour the dressing over the salad and enjoy. Serves 1.
