Musician arrested in attempted murder investigation
A 26-year-old local musician who has a history of assault was arrested early this morning for allegedly stabbing his live-in girlfriend with an 8-inch butter knife.
Police arrested Kaipo Kapua at 1:55 a.m. at their Kaha-luu home on suspicion of attempted murder and kidnapping, but he has not been charged.
Kapua and his 23-year-old girlfriend got into an argument at about 9 a.m. Thursday, and the argument escalated, police said.
He then allegedly began choking the woman and threatened to kill her. She was stabbed in the right knee, causing a deep puncture wound, police said.
