Vacatia.com

Here’s a website that makes time-share resales easy. With just a few clicks, you can get a vacation for life, one week at a time.

» What it does: It’s a user-friendly marketplace where you can buy and sell time shares.

» What’s hot: Sometimes it seems as if time-share resale websites have a language all their own. Not here. If you’re a newbie, click on the "Help" link for a "Buyer’s Guide" and a glossary. I couldn’t tear myself away from the "Deals" section. First, there’s a list of featured deals, but don’t stop there. Scroll down to the bottom where Vacatia lists curated deals that are $1,000 or less. I found a two-bedroom unit at a Four Seasons Residence Club in Scottsdale, Ariz., for $500 (plus maintenance) and a two-bedroom in Las Vegas for — wait for it — $1 (plus maintenance).

» What’s not: Carefully read the fine print. The time-share resale business has many rules attached. Many of these resales are good for use every year, but don’t miss the language that tells you about closing costs, annual fees, maintenance fees, etc. Also, some of the less expensive properties were available only every other year.
