A 32-year-old woman has been charged with attempted murder in the shooting of another woman in Makaha on May 19.
May Iwa Brewer, who gave police no local address, was arrested at 10:20 p.m. Saturday in Kapolei.
Police had been looking for the suspect after a 40-year-old woman was shot.
Police said the victim was sitting in her vehicle on Farrington Highway in Makaha when she was approached by Brewer. Police say Brewer brandished a handgun, demanded money and struggled for the victim’s property.
During the struggle the handgun went off, and the victim was struck in her head. She was hospitalized.
Brewer got into a vehicle driven by an unknown male who drove off, police said.
Brewer was charged Sunday with attempted murder and first-degree robbery. Her bail was set at $250,000.
