"Hawaii Five-0" finished second in the Nielsen ratings Monday with its first new episode in a month, according to numbers released by CBS.

The episode, which opened with Hawaii bounty hunter Duane "Dog" Chapman racing after a fugitive, drew 8.99 million viewers to 11.26 million for ABC’s "Castle." NBC’s "Deception" was a distant third with 3.41 million viewers.

Among the key advertising demographic Monday night, adults 18-49, "Five-0" drew 2.1 percent of the total viewing audience and 6 percent of those watching TV at the time, CBS said. "Castle" was slightly higher, with 2.2 percent of the total viewing audience and 6 percent of those watching TV at the time.

Chapman said his brief appearance on "Five-0" was hard work. By the end of shooting, he could have used a stunt double.

"It was a lot of fun, but first it was a lot of work," Chapman said. "I couldn’t believe how exhausted I was after I did it. It was hard, unbelievably hard."
