Helene Hale, bottom left, was a Hawaii island supervisor among Demo­crats for Adlai Stevenson gathered at a rally in 1960. The others are, counterclockwise from center front, Caroline E. Turner, a cousin of Stevenson’s; Patsy T. Mink, a former legislator; Duke T. Kawa­saki; Sen. O. Vincent Espo­sito; and Rep. David C. McClung. Hale died Friday at home at the age of 94.
