Terrible’s casino has completed a $7 million face-lift. The renovation of its 327 hotel rooms includes new furniture, carpeting, flat-screen TVs and other amenities.
And the casino floor has been reconfigured, adding nearly 1,000 new slots, plus a William Hill race and sports book and accompanying sports book bar.
Terrible’s remains a gambler-friendly casino, with good video poker schedules and players club deals, as well as ongoing food specials in the restaurants.
The casino is on Flamingo Road, about two miles east of the Strip.
>> Second wheel: While work continues on the big observation wheel attached to the Link project at Center Strip, there’s trouble for a second wheel that’s part of a project called Skyvue.
Work on Skyvue, on the South Strip, has been halted because of disputes with contractors over payment. The developers say that a loan that will clear up the problems is pending and that wheel No. 2 will be built.
>> New Rockhouse: A new Rockhouse “ultra dive bar” has opened at the Venetian.
The original Rockhouse was in front of the Imperial Palace but was closed because of construction on the Link project.
>> More Detroit: The downtown D has opened another Detroit-based restaurant. Joe Vicari’s Andiamo Italian Steakhouse has opened its first non-Michigan location there, similar to Detroit’s American Coney Island, which also opened its first out-of-state restaurant at the D last year.
Question: Has Britney Spears signed on for an ongoing gig at a Las Vegas casino?
Answer: Nothing is firm at this point. Spears has had a couple of deals in the works in Las Vegas — initially in 2008 at the Palms, then again last year when she was linked with the Hard Rock — but neither panned out. Now there are rumors that she’s in “serious talks” to headline a “Celine-type” show at a Caesars Entertainment property, likely Planet Hollywood, but it’s only talk as of now.
