Area’s latest venue plan would put stadium at UNLV

Majestic Realty, owner of the Silverton, has proposed an $800 million to $900 million stadium and events center called UNLV Now that would be built adjacent to the University of Nevada-Las Vegas campus.

The complex would include a 60,000-seat stadium along with up to 3,000 student housing units and 400,000 square feet of retail space. The stadium and events center will feature the world’s longest indoor video screen and six “supersuites” that will accommodate up to 300 guests and sell for more than $1 million per year each.

It’s the latest of several arena proposals, none of which has been able to get traction. The project must be approved by the university before other details, including funding plans, are divulged.
