Police ID at least 1 woman in Grim Sleeper photo
LOS ANGELES » At least one woman has come forward after Los Angeles police sought the public’s help with social media postings of 42 photos of women found at the home of the Grim Sleeper serial murder suspect.
Police put the photos on Facebook and Twitter last week hoping to locate or get information about the unidentified women. The pictures were taken between 1976 and 2010 and were among about 1,000 that were found at the home of Lonnie Franklin Jr.
One woman identified herself recently at a street festival as being in the photos. Police say they are trying to verify women in three other cases.
Prosecutors charged Franklin with 10 counts of murder and one count of attempted murder for the deaths of prostitutes and other women. He pleaded not guilty.
