Honolulu police released this mugshot of Jacob H. Le, who has been charged with murder for the stabbing death of Brent Kanae.

Prosecutors today charged 26-year-old Jacob Le of Kapahulu with second-degree murder in the stabbing death of Brent Keola Kanae.

Kanae, 23, also of Kapahulu, was found unconscious and bleeding after being stabbed in a stairwell Oct. 3 at 3 p.m. at Ala Moana Center.

Bail for Le was set at $250,000.

He was arrested Thursday at 3:40 p.m. on suspicion of second-degree murder.

Le lives in an apartment on Cambpell Avenue, and neighbors described him as shy.

The stabbing happened in a stairwell used by employees at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., where Kanae was a line cook.
