Two men were arrested this morning in connection with an assault that took place in Waikiki more than two years ago.

Police said a man, 35, approached the victim, 27, on a Waikiki Street about 10:10 p.m. on Dec. 1, 2009, and punched his face several times. When he was done, another man, 45, also punched the victim in the face several times.

The victim was hospitalized although the types or severity of the injuries were not disclosed.

Police later identified the suspects and arrested the older suspect, of a Waioli Street address, on School Street about 8:05 a.m. The second suspect, of a 13th Avenue address, was arrested in Hauula about 11:30 a.m.

Both men are being held pending counts of second-degree assault.
