Hawaii County police say they have busted a drug-related burglary ring that stole more than $100,000 in jewelry, laptops, sports memorabilia and a generator.
Police have arrested 10 people allegedly involved in the burglary ring with crimes occurring in Hilo, Kona, Kailua-Kona and Waikoloa.
Police Lt. Sherry Bird said tips from the public played an important role in dismantling this burglary ring.
"We are grateful to our community for helping to act as our eyes and ears," Bird said. "Their help was critical in helping us solve this rash of crimes."
Police made the arrests Sept. 12 through Tuesday and said at least one man involved remains at large.
The crimes include burglary, kidnapping, assault, terroristic threatening, auto theft, drug and firearm offenses, and hindering prosecution.
