This mugshot released by Los Angeles County Sheriffs shows Cecilio Rodriguez, who began serving a one-year jail term today.

Entertainer Cecililo Rodriguez is a free man again after serving nearly five months in a Los Angeles County jail for molesting two young girls.

Rodriguez, 67, was given a sentence of one-year in prison and five years probation in January after pleading no contest to sexually molesting two sisters in 1998 and 1999 in Los Angeles.

He began serving his jail time on March 9 in the Los Angeles County Jail with a projected release date of Aug. 28.

However, Rodriguez was released early on July 17 because of the crowded conditions in the county jail, a spokesperson said.

Rodriguez is now on parole for five years and has to attend a 52-week sexual offender counseling course. He also has to register as a sex offender. If he violates his parole, he faces completing a six-year suspended prison term.

Rodriguez, once part of the musical duo known as Cecilio & Kapono, pleaded no contest in January to sexually molesting the first victim between 1996 and 1998, and sexually molesting her sister between 1997 and 1999.

Rodriguez was on tour at the various times of the assaults and staying with the girls’ family in their Carson home. One victim, now 21, was between 7 and 8 years old at the time of the assault and her sister, now 23, was between 8 and 9 years old when she was sexually molested. Under California law, charges may be filed for felony sex crimes committed against victims younger than 18 who come forward before their 28th birthday.
