Pearl City student joins Board of Education
A Pearl City High School senior has been sworn-in as the student representative on Hawaii’s Board of Education.
Danicia Honda was sworn-in during a ceremony at Tuesday’s board meeting.
The Hawaii State Student Council selects a non-voting student member on the governor-appointed board.
Honda was secretary of the council last year. She’s a member of the marching band, math team and Leo Club. She also has a black belt in karate, as well as varsity and junior varsity letters in track and field.
During the one-year term, she’ll participate in general board and committee meetings held on the first and third Tuesday of each month.
