Brush fire burns about 4 acres in Kokee, Kauai
Because of nightfall, state and Kauai firefighters today were forced to stop battling a brush fire continues to burn along Makaha Ridge in Kokee.
According to fire officials, there is no immediate threat to structures and no injuries were reported.
The fire broke out shortly after 2 p.m. today and has burned through roughly four acres of state land.
Firefighters from across the island and two helicopters assisted the state Division of Forestry and Wildlife in fighting the blaze.
DOFAW will continue firefighting Tuesday.
