Hawaii beats New Mexico State 5-2
Matt Sisto held the top scoring team in the country to one run over seven innings as Hawaii defeated New Mexico State 5-2 on Thursday night in the opener of a three-game series at Les Murakami Stadium.
Collin Bennet went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs as the Rainbows (26-18, 6-4 Western Athletic Conference) moved within a game of the league-leading Aggies (30-15, 7-3).
Zack Swasey added three hits and Garrett Champion singled and scored for the ‘Bows.
Sisto (8-3) made the 53rd start of his career and allowed five hits in seven innings.
Ryan Beck (4-4) took the loss for New Mexico State.
