A Japanese tourist in his mid-70s went to the hospital in critical condition  after he was found at the bottom of a pool at Hilton Hawaiian Village.

Lifeguards found the man face down in the water and called firefighters about 3:45 p.m.Friday, said Honolulu Fire Capt. Rick Karasaki. Hotel security began CPR and brought back the man’s pulse and got him breathing again.

"The security guards at Hilton Hawaiian Village saved this guy’s life," Karasaki said.

Firefighters assisted paramedics who took the man to Straub Clinic & Hospital.

An Emergency Medical Services supervisor said paramedics took the patient to the hospital in critical condition.
