2 tourists critically hurt in parasailing mishap
Two visitors from Palm Springs, Calif., are in critical condition following a parasailing mishap at Kewalo Basin.
According to Honolulu Fire Department spokesperson Capt. Carlton Yamada, the two men were in the midst of a tandem ride Sunday when they somehow made contact with the water and were dragged approximately 1,000 feet. Crew from the X-treme Parasail vessel were able to pull the men back into the boat and began CPR.
HFD rescue personnel assisted the men on shore and CPR was continued on one of the men as both were taken to an area hospital.
Both men are listed in critical condition.
The Coast Guard is investigating the cause of the incident.
