Kalihi man arrested in counterfeit bill investigation

A Kalihi man was arrested today after he confessed to giving his older roommate a counterfeit bill that got the roommate arrested, police said.

Officers were arresting a 34-year-old man about 12:45 p.m. after he allegedly tried to buy items from a Kalihi convenience store with the counterfeit bill when the younger man went in the store and admitted that he gave the 34-year-old man the bill, police said. 

Officers arrested both men fronting the Middle Street Meat Market for investigation of first-degree forgery. 

The older man posted $100 bail and was released, while the younger man was released pending investigation.
