Chow replaces Tomey as UH special teams coach
Head coach Norm Chow has completed his University of Hawaii football coaching staff with the addition of Chris Demarest.
Demarest, who coached East Stroudsburg (Pa.) University’s defensive backs, will be the Warriors’ special teams coordinator and defensive assistant.
Demarest succeeds Dick Tomey, who was not retained by Chow.
Demarest has coached at Florida State, North Carolina State and Rutgers. Chow and Demarest were on the same North Carolina State staff.
"I’ve known Chris since our days at North Carolina State, and I saw what an outstanding recruiter he is," Chow said in a news release. "I’ve followed his career and we’ve both kept in touch throughout the years. He’ll be a great asset to our staff."
