Police arrest homeless woman in child abuse case
A 31-year-old homeless woman was arrested after allegedly hitting and putting her hand around the neck of her toddler child Tuesday afternoon.
Police said a witness reported the woman placed her hand around the neck of the child, who was in a stroller, to stop her from crying. When the toddler continued to cry, the mother allegedly hit her on the face with a closed fist.
The suspect was arrested on Kawaiahao Street about 1:40 p.m., police said.
