Japan says APEC finance chiefs may pledge coordinated action

Finance Ministers of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation group are likely to pledge coordinated action to support the global economic recovery and ensure financial-sector stability, a Japanese government official said.

The official, speaking on condition of anonymity to reporters today in Honolulu, also said Japan is working to include language on foreign-exchange used by Group of 20 members in the APEC finance minister’s statement. G-20 nations have repeatedly said excessive and disorderly currency movements are undesirable.
