Man hurt in incident involving pickup truck
A man suffered a leg injury Tuesday after he was hit by a pickup truck allegedly driven by his girlfriend in an apparent attempted murder in Kahaluu.
Police said the man was hurt in a crash near the Hygienic Store, in the 47-520 block of Kamehameha Highway, at about 2:25 p.m. The man was standing about six feet away from the pickup when the driver hit the gas and pinned the man’s leg against a wall, emergency dispatch reports said.
Police said the man and his girlfriend were arguing when the incident happened.
Paramedics took a 42-year-old man in serious condition to the hospital, an Emergency Medical Services supervisor said. Police detained a suspect and opened an attempted-murder case.

A bicyclist was in critical condition Tuesday night after he was hit by a mo-ped near Fort Weaver Road and Kilaha Street in Ewa Beach.
Paramedics found the man in the road shortly after the crash at about 6:50 p.m. and took him to the Queen’s Medical Center. Traffic was being contra-flowed around the scene in the mauka-bound lanes of Fort Weaver Road.
Police said the bicyclist tried to chase the mo-ped rider, who was arrested for alleged disorderly conduct.
