Maui Divers chief executive to retire
Maui Divers Jewelry President and CEO Bob Taylor will retire at the end of the year after 35 years with the kamaaina company.
Taylor, who will continue as a director and stockholder at Maui Divers, will be succeeded by Mary Beth Brenner, the current executive vice president.
Taylor was named president in 1993 and CEO in 1999 and has led the company’s expansion from five to 56 stores.
Maui Divers, the state’s largest jewelry manufacturer and retailer founded in 1959, has more than 500 employees. It operates on the four major Hawaiian Islands, as well as in California and Guam.
“It’s been an incredible career at Maui Divers Jewelry, but it is time to implement the successor plan that has been in the works for some time,” Taylor said in a statement.
