Medical Examiner identifies Japanese tourist killed in trolley fall

The Medical Examiner’s office identified the 71-year-old Japanese visitor, who died after falling off an E Noa Tours trolley just outside Ala Moana Center Monday afternoon, as Shizuo Tsukada from Hokkaido.

Tsukada died of head injuries sustained in a fall and the death is classified as accidental.

Police said the man was standing next to the right side exit at the middle of the vehicle as the trolley was leaving the shopping center at about 3:15 p.m. He  was pronounced dead at 11:53 p.m. at the Queen’s Medical Center.

When the 33-year-old trolley driver made a left turn to Ala Moana Boulevard toward Waikiki, the man fell to the roadway, police said.
