Defending champion Michelle Wie overcame a slow start today to shoot a 3-under 69 and remain tied for fourth at the CN Canadian Women’s Open played at the Hillsdale Golf & Country Club in Mirabel, Quebec.

The Punahou School graduate’s 36-hole total of 8-under 136 left her three shots off the pace of Ai Miyazato (68—133) and Angela Stanford (66—133). Wie is tied with seven other golfers on the tightly packed leaderboard. Song-Hee Kim (68—15) is alone in third.

Wie was 1 over at the turn with two bogeys and one birdie, dropping into a tie for 24th. But the 21-year-old Stanford student roared back with four birdies on the back to move into contention.
